Chandigarh Angels Network partnered with Times of India (TOI) for jointly conducting the campaign called “It’s Chandigarh’s Time- Innovation Challenge”.

Focusing on boosting innovation in the tricity region- CAN and TOI collaborated to instill a spark of motivation among young Entrepreneurs of the Tricity Region.

Over the years, it has been quoted that one of the main reasons behind the failure of startups is the lack of innovation.

With the view of tapping the potential among the pool of resources in Chandigarh, the interested candidates were asked to submit their ideas under the 3 main categories- Business, Technology & Infrastructure. Around 1000 people applied online with their respective ideas. Amongst them, 150 were shortlisted through an intense scouting process. After a thorough evaluation of each individual idea, a filtered list of final 48 startups in Chandigarh was announced.

Further, these 48 teams were provided with the opportunity of sharing their ideas and business proposals in front of a panel of jury comprising of investors from Chandigarh Angels Network.

Innovation challenge

The response of pitching teams and entrepreneurs was incredible as getting feedback of Investors proved to be very beneficial for them.

Finally, 14 Startup Entrepreneurs with the best innovative ideas amongst the whole lot were featured by TOI and are being mentored by our investors.
